The Overly Requested Happy Mirror and the Portraits of Disappearing Women - 1/18/2026

Abstract

In modern society, the word "equality" resonates as an irreplaceable good news. However, behind that glittering sign, a quiet transformation is underway. This paper explores the true nature of the discomfort lurking in everyday life. It coldly examines the structural absurdity of how the freedom women supposedly gained has somehow been transformed into a "cutting-out" process that forces them to conform to specific standards. What does the mirror we constructed with good intentions reflect and what does it strip away?

The pitfalls of a perfect runway

A huge runway designed to allow everyone to fly equally high was completed in a certain city. Until then, the people had struggled with uneven ground and wind direction, but they welcomed this flat, flawless facility with open arms. However, shortly after the launch, a strange phenomenon began to occur. Those whose wings were originally designed to fit the runway took off with flying colors, but those requiring different lift simply couldn't get off the ground, no matter how hard they tried.

Those around them encouraged them, saying, "The runway is so flat. If you can't fly, it's because you aren't trying hard enough, or because old habits are holding you back."

This is the true nature of what we call "equality of opportunity." When we set the stage for society, we established a single "correct answer." It was a blueprint once created by people with specific attributes, one that sought efficiency, competition, and sustainable results. When women were invited onto that stage, they were handed a chisel with which to re-sculpt themselves into that blueprint.

Portrait in the Mirror

At first glance, the people walking briskly through an office district on a mid-afternoon afternoon appear to be all independent and equally enjoying freedom. However, upon closer examination of these evaluation criteria, we come across an interesting fact: the objects of praise are always those who "behave in the same way as existing successful people."

Women have their own unique standards of judgment, based on their biological processes, their unique time flow, their emotions, and their empathy. However, within the modern system, these are often dismissed as "noise."

The possibility of conceiving a child, the monthly fluctuations in physical condition, the instinctive circuitry that cherishes those who need to be protected—all of these have come to be seen as obstacles to running straight down the runway.

Modern liberation = the elimination of original characteristics + the conformity to existing standards.

As a result, instead of being allowed to "be themselves," women are constantly tested every day to see how "they can continue to be as excellent as others." This is not liberation, but nothing more than the process of being refined and standardized.

Faded Colors, New Silence

Once upon a time, the world was filled with the colors of diverse roles. They may not have been equal, but there was at least room to acknowledge the unique brilliance of each color. However, in our attempt to reflect this imbalance, we blended all the colors together and painted them a single, sterile shade of gray.

Someone said, "Now, there will be no more discrimination based on color."

It's true that in a gray world, everyone is treated equally. But the price is that the unique "wisdom" that women inherently possessed—the ability to sustain life, value harmony, and appreciate stability—has lost its place and evaporated. They suppressed the quiet voices within themselves and, using a megaphone imposed upon them from without, repeated the same words their former rulers shouted.

At first glance, the scene appears harmonious. But this silence is not the result of the overlapping of diverse sounds; it is an empty silence created by those who are forbidden to sing their own unique melodies.

Portrait of the End

Instead of shedding our inconvenient shoes, we chose to reshape our feet to fit them. It must be said that what has been done in the name of feminism has not been to improve the status of women, but rather to transform the very existence of women into convenient "spare parts" for the machine of society.

Women look into the mirror and cannot see their true selves. What they see is a perfectly polished, transparent portrait that is indistinguishable from anyone else. We have finally achieved perfect equality, where no one is hurt and no one exists.

Completion of equality = disappearance of individuality = everyone's loss
